There are many highway construction projects on-going in the NYC area this summer. Check out the planned work on routes to some of the major destinations around NYC.

 


I-84 Bridge over Delaware & Neversink Rivers (Between NY and PA) 

I-84 is reduced to one lane in each direction between Exit 2 in the Town of Deerpark in NY and Exit 53 in Pennsylvania, due to ongoing bridge rehabilitation work. Anticipate significant traffic delays through the holiday weekend. This section of Interstate carries I-84 over the Delaware & Neversink Rivers in Orange County, NY, and Pike County, PA.

 


Bayone Bridge Overnight Closures

The Port Authority of NY and NJ advises that, as part of the   project, overnight bridge closures of the will continue through the duration of the project. During closure hours, all traffic will be diverted to the Goethals Bridge.

 


Lincoln Tunnel Helix Project (Updated 7-11)

Motorists traveling the Lincoln Tunnel will encounter overnight construction on the NJ side of the tunnel which will affect traffic in both directions. More details are available on the project page.

 


NJ Pulaski Skyway

If you travel from Northern New Jersey into New York City, check out the Pulaski Skyway Page for information on the latest lane closures that are a result of the bridge rehabilitation work. 

 


Update: GW Bridge Upper Deck Replacement (Updated 7-11) 

George Washington Bridge Upper Deck Replacement is occurring during overnight construction. Construction hours are: Mon-Thurs, 9pm-5am, and Fri, 10pm-10am. ONLY 1 lane is open with multiple temporary closures. More details are available on the project page.

Commuters register in the free, easy-to-use, online ridematching system at SouthernTierRideshare.com to find others to match with and share rides. 511NY Southern Tier Rideshare will work with organizations to create customized web sites to access the ridematching system, providing a valuable benefit to employers and employees.

BMTS (Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study) has partnered with 511NY to launch Broome-Tioga Rideshare, to help commuters, travelers and employers find easy and sustainable alternatives to driving alone. Through the Broome-Tioga ridematching system, users will be able to find carpool matches and get customized information for their commute when taking public transit, vanpooling or bicycling.
