New Jersey Transit Strike
NJ Transit reports due to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers (BLET) membership voting down a tentative agreement reached between NJ TRANSIT and BLET leadership, the BLET started a strike as of Friday, May 16. This has resulted in the complete suspension of NJ TRANSIT rail service, including Metro-North west of Hudson service. Glimmerglass Triathlon
Occurring for the second year, the 2025 Glimmerglass Triathlon will return to the Glimmerglass State Park in the Town of Springfield, Saturday, May 17th. This year’s event will take place in and around the Glimmerglass State Park, with the cycling component spreading north to US Route 20 via state and secondary roads.
Motorists may encounter some bicyclists along US Route 20 eastbound between CR 173 (Warren) and CR 31 (East Springfield) or on Route 80 at the intersection with CR 53 (south of Springfield Center). Peak encounters are anticipated Saturday between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM.
Drivers are asked to use extreme caution while traveling along US Route 20, Route 80 and surrounding local roads during the event.

I-87 Champlain Port of Entry (US-Canadian Border) Overheight Vehicle Restriction
As of April 21, 2025, all oversized vehicles will no longer be able to enter Canada (circulate northbound) through the Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle (Highway 15) Port of Entry due to ongoing construction. Alternative POE: Lacolle Route 221

NYDOT has partnered with Waze through their Waze for Cities program to publish Waze reported information on the 511NY website. This program is a free data exchange between Waze and government entities and private road owners and operators. Waze is the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app. Waze gathers crowdsourced real-time traffic data and road information from its users. Waze incidents data identified by the Waze app are now available to view on 511NY. This information is provided in addition to official information reported by NYDOT to better help people plan their travel in New York.
